Squaw
Lakes
These quaint & beautiful lakes are located in
Jackson County in Southern Oregon. Big Squaw lake
is 50 Acres and Little Squaw Lake is 12 acres.
These lake provide a great way to spend the day
and fish. Some of the fish in the lakes are
Rainbow Trout, Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass
Common, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, and Cutthroat
Trout. There is a restriction of Motor boats.
Location: Take Hwy 238 from I- 5 south to Ruch, then
follow the Applegate River Rd south to Applegate
Reservoir. Go across dam to Forest Rd 1075 and to the
lakes. NOTE* Squaw Lakes
Camping is Walk-in ONLY. Vehicles are parked
outside the gate area, and all personal belongings
must be hiked into the camping area. There is no
exceptions to the policy. Due to the remote
location of Squaw Lakes, CHECK-IN at the
campground is currently not available. Prior to
crossing the dam and driving up the mountain road,
we recommend that you check-in at Hart-Tish Park
General Store at Applegate Lake. It's just 3/4 of
a mile past the dam on the left hand side. Your
check-in will be quick and easy, and also you can
get last minute supplies you may have forgotten.
Do not proceed to Squaw Lakes without a copy of
your reservation confirmation in-hand. Our
Camp-host routinely checks each campsite for
proper documentation.
